The Best Thing In Your Cupboard. King of Condiments
If you buy this, you will thank me. Just don't even bother reading the rest of this review. OK so you're still here. Maybe you have questions. Maybe you're wondering if this really is the ultimate condiment, the umami masterstroke, the salty fermented mother of all flavours. YES. It is that.Cook rice, put this on it, then shut up, start shovelling it in your gaping mouth-hole and be happy. Yes yes if you want you could put other things with the rice, like vegetables or other kinds of food. If you are looking for ways to kill time, go ahead and prepare vegetables to go with your rice and black bean chilli sauce.Maybe you are thinking to yourself, "hey does this guy work for Laoganma he seems really into it" NO but if they need a brand ambassador, I am qualified and available.Maybe you're thinking "damn £6 is a lot for a jar of stuff" and maybe you're right. Guess it depends what stuff is in the jar. The real question is, can you afford NOT to buy this? Do you really want to just drift through life without ever knowing the true nature of pleasure?

Lovely taste but very hot!
Lovely taste, I was expecting a paste texture so not exactly what I was looking for but a good alternative, very hot so use sparingly.

Unbelievably morish
Has become quite the hit with the family, especially slathered on boiled rice with an egg, or two, on top. So good...

Brilliant addition to any food cupboard!
Absolutely amazing addition to any dish; so unbelievably tasty and savoury and delicious. I followed another reviewer’s suggestion and tossed a large teaspoon over rice noodles with a little soy sauce as an easy snack and it was gorgeous. Lasts a while as you only need a small amount per person. Goes really well with Pak Choi, broccoli and noodles and a dash of soy sauce. I don’t eat meat but I’d imagine it would be great with beef or chicken. It’s vegan/vegetarian.

All it touches turns to gold
First the bad news: it's not very hot. But it's lovely stuff. It's not like one of those sauces at the supermarket where you pour in half a jar. A spoonful's enough to make a big difference to any dish. I can just add a spoonful to some plain rice or noodles and eat them just like that, such is the magic of this concoction. The flavour is pervasive yet somehow subtle. The crushed chilli beans in the jar are suspended in oil, so you don't need any other oil. The beans are crispy, so this isn't so much a blended sauce as a preserve--the texture is unique and wonderful.

Fast shipping and excellent packaging. The Leatherman tool feels very premium and sturdy.
Lao Gan Ma Soybean Chilli Sauce provides savoury traditional Sichuan flavour for cooking or as a condiment. The aroma is at once reminiscent of ripe pineapple and savoury fermented fish. The beans have a surprisingly crispy texture. Try it as one stop shop for adding punch to pork or plain rice.
