Techniques of High Magic: A Manual of Self-Initiation Paperback – May 11, 2016

First Dr Skinner book I've purchased and read. I first read the whole thing from beginning to end. I am now reading it again and putting into practice what is laid out in the book. I love the practical and pragmatic approach of it. Practicing and mastering all the topics in the book I believe will take me a lot of time.I am taking my firsts steps with magic, so far I think this was a good purchase.I am knowledgeable about astrology, with a mostly traditional approach (no psychological astrology for me please) and some of the astro concepts seem to be more on the modern side. No biggie, but I was expecting more of a medieval/traditional approach in the matter.

Great starting point to magical work. Not particularly useful if you want to focus on evocations and grimoire work.

Texts. Understand protection of the golden dawn. This has to be one of the most combination of many different practices in sorcery and magic.This is just by looking at the contents. It has enochian, witchcraft, black magic and many other aspects from which it pulls.The heirophant as the front cover is confusing.This should be the magus instead. For it is technically teaching you an advanced course of Eliphas Levi high magic.Beware.Understand the ars goetia and what it is before you open this book. Because it seems to be beyond just the ars goetia. It’s many levels of complexity that you can have, could cause bad problems.

This is a must have book for the practicing magician. It is very simple and to the point. It lacks nothing. But Some of the pronounciations are not correct. Example: Yod Nun Resh Yod, should not be pronouced as spelt. And Daat should not be pronounced as Da-art.However; this book gives the best info on why to do the rituals and their purposes. The illustrations and references are very helpful. If you need a first book on magick or to add to your collection of info, this is your book.

The content of the book is invaluable and fantastic! Very concise and detailed. The methods are explained in a way that works very well for my learning style.

The only thing that needs to be said about this book is GET IT NOW! Any magus interested in another genius's thoughts and research about magic initiation articulated in a comprehensive and intelligent way need look no further.Hope this helps someone make a decision on what to buy or not to buy. Thx

have not gotten in to reading it but it looks pretty promising to me, hope it will be just as interesting as my other books on this subject.
