Excellent for cats
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I have multiple cats and every day their water has changed out when I give them this vetradent It’s excellent stuff, but it makes my cats every single one of them thirsty. They’re at the bowl grabbing tons of water but when I took one of my cats who’s 19yrs old to a wellness check, they were amazed at how great his teeth looked and what great shape he is inHighly recommend using it .

Pay attention to dose information
Saved my bubs teeth. I've been trying to brush his teeth for years now but mr meatball is too good for oral hygiene and acts like I'm killing him. I add this to their water fountain and it has melted the ick in days. Still some left but more white than plaque now

Easily hide it in the water.
My dog is super picky but he doesn’t even notice this is in his water. He drinks his water like there is nothing in it. His breath smell is better.

Cat's Bad Breath Problem - SOLVED!
This has solved a lifetime long problem for one of our cats, and he's 16! He's always had terrible breath. We take him for regular dentals, he's had a couple extractions, he has some tartar, which they scrape off, but even after his appointments, his breath was unbelievably bad. And he loves to sit on our chests and "kiss" us! :-{ We talked to a vet tech at our clinic, and she mention that there are pet dental products approved by VOHC (Vet Oral Health Council) that are designed to control tartar. This is one of those products, and since the day we started using it (it dilutes in water, which we mix up in a plastic soda bottle), his breath has been great! It's like we have a new cat. Bonus: He seems more energetic than he's been in at least a couple of years. It could be his toxic smelling tartar was poisoning him, as well.

Not sure if it's good but it's gunking up my floor and water fountain
I have two cats and two dogs. The cats wouldn't drink it at first, but now they will.I have LVP flooring and all of my guys will walk away from their water bowl, dripping. Whatever is in this stuff does not fully evaporate, so I am constantly mopping the dried drips off of my expensive and sensitive flooring. I wish I had gotten tile!I also have an electric, filtered water fountain that all drink from, and it seems to gunk up the sides and bottom of the tank, as well as the "bowl", as well as the filter that gets a gel-like substance in it. I'm having to thoroughly scrub the whole fountain, which I probably should have been doing all along, every week, and changing the filter more often, as well.If I gave them plain water out of a bowl and cleaned it every other day, this would not be happening. If I didn't have luxury plank flooring and a filtered, electric fountain, I probably wouldn't be so negative about it.I don't know if this is helping my pet's teeth or not. I only brush the dog's teeth on a weekly basis, when I bathe them, and I'm still seeing a bit of redness and bleeding around their gums.I think I will use this 2nd bottle up and then just put a little bit of vinegar into their water.

Probably a good product but with a specific drawback…,
Gotta say….. I wanted to try this for my two cats, but they use a water fountain for their drinking water. For some reason this product causes a weird kind of slime in the water fountain, and it also turns the soft sponge mesh filter a gunky brownish yellow color. I change their water weekly so it’s not like it had been sitting for three months. I have also used other dental water additives in the past and have never seen this issue. It is probably a good product and I am bummed because it is VOHC accepted so that add some credibility, but it’s not great for water fountains. It must react to something in the filter portion of the fountain…..I’m guessing maybe it reacts with the ion exchange resin component. All the other components of the water fountain are relatively inert. So just be aware.

No more extractions
We have an 11 year-old Shih tzu who has had 2 extractions because he wouldn’t let us clean his teeth. Vetrident works great. His teeth look much better.
