Honshu has yet to fail me! 10/10
Sharp, heavy, high quality feel for ~$60! Self defense, camping, survival, it can do it all! Mine came super sharp right out of the box and ready to use. I do recommend getting a towel though as it was a bit greasy. The one con I will say is the sheath clip is a bit on the smaller end. You may need either stretch it more to close it or wiggle your knife a tad to get it to reach. The sheath is lovely otherwise (though one could also argue that the clip may be a tad thin as well and could rip with brute force).Amazing knife none the less and you get more than what you pay for in my opinion.

OUTSTANDING KNIFE!!!
To be clear, this is not a Tanto Blade, it is more of chip point. What I was hoping and did get was a great knife with a chip point blade. I have never really been a fan of United Cutlery and I have always been a huge fan of Cold Steel. I purchased this knife with some hesitation. I am glad that I purchased this knife, and yes I will be purchasing more. I am going to get one of these for everyone in my family. The quality of the knife is outstanding, and the sheath for the knife is top quality leather. Meaning that they used very heavy leather. I hate to say it, but I think I have found a replacement for my K-Bar, and I am a Marine. The only thing I do not like on this knife is the handle. It is a hard rubber, and so it could be slippery in a persons hands if they are sweating or wet. That is a easy fix though, so do not let that stop you from purchasing this knife (really a short sword). The rubber does look like it will last a very long time. Also, the handle is shorter then most American sized knives. It is perfect for me, but I am short. Anyway, if you are reading this review, that means you are interested, and you really need to just purchase this knife. You will not be disappointed once you get it.

Good bang for the buck
I bought this strictly on impulse and have no intentions of ever carrying it. So I can't comment on how the knife will perform during actual use. But I can say that the overall build quality ( fit & finish) is excellent.Out of the box, the knife was shaving sharp and the blade grinds are all even. The blade's satin finish is also very well done.In the hand , the knife's balance is very good and the grip is quite secure. I have small hands and I would have no problem hanging on to this knife. It's advertised as being full tang and from what I can see, it is. But IMO the tang tapers too much under the grip and I believe there might be a weakness right above the guard. But if you use the knife for cutting and not aggressive chopping it should be fine. It's not a survival knife, if you want something that can take abuse buy a Kabar Marine knife. Or if you're on a budget I'd recommend an H&K field knife. The only real negative is the sheath. It really is sub par and if I needed to carry the knife, the first thing I'd do is find a new sheath. I don't mind leather sheaths , but I'm not sure this is even real leather. So to sum this all up , if you like to collect knives for a coolness factor or just to admire than this will please you.It can probably handle cutting water jugs and mellons to amaze your friends, but if you want an all purpose camp knife look elsewhere.

Impressive Knife and Inexpensive Too
I am very happy with this tanto. It is full tang and built very solidly. All the joints fit to close tolerances. The rubber cover for handle fits precisely and the knife feels nice in the hand. The sheath is structured leather and well-made, attractive and functional.I have large hands and the handle is a little short for a perfect grip, but it is certainly acceptable. The Honshu Fighter I in the same series has the same overall length, with a somewhat shorter blade and a longer handle. It is on my wish list!!

It’s looks nice
It’s a good looking knife and the blade takes an edge easily. Don’t expect to use it as a camp or survival knife. After a few chops into some small branches the handle loosened up and the end cap broke off. It looks like it would make a decent machete but it doesn’t, that’s probably because of the hollow grind, I had it razor sharp and it just didn’t want to cut through brush.Maybe I just got a bad one. A lot of people seem to love it. I only paid $29 for it 8 years ago, hopefully they made some improvements. It’s perfect if you’re a wannabe ninja and want to play in the backyard. I just didn’t find it very useful. There are plenty of better options for a rugged, do everything knife for under100 bucks

A fine weapon!
I bought this expecting it to be a gigantic manly blade that I could slay any living creature with. It was exactly as I suspected. Even though it says in ver very small lettering that its made in china, it demands respect wherever it was made! It's solidly built. Very solid. Fit and finish are impeccable. I collect swords, midievil mostly. Some of high carbon steel. And even though this is just stainless, it's so solid, I feel it's the best knife if you had to face a bear, or a lion, and would dice zombies to shreds. I love weapons, and this is now the coolest knife I own, and would take it to battle over my howies, or daggers. I might add that it matches my katana with the exact blade shape and blood groove! I'm gonna buy five and give them to all my closest friends. A 10 in my book, and for forty bucks! Looks like it's worth 150!

Great steal for its price. Very fun knife
It’s a great knife, sharp, sturdy and overall really good for its price. I only bought it becuase it was used in the horror film “There is someone in your house” but it’s still worth every penny
